Plan for Action

Stakeholder Activation

The action planning process is where all your hard work on identifying stakeholders, assessing needs, and mapping assets comes together for your city’s service plan.

To identify stakeholders to participate on the action planning committee and subcommittees:

  • Refer to your analysis of stakeholders.
  • Which groups need to be a part of the action planning committee?
  • Look to stakeholders who have participated already, who have information and ideas on planning.
  • Ensure that underrepresented groups in the city are included.
  • Get the word out to stakeholders to invite them to be part of the process. See Citizen Participation for information on reaching these groups.  Be sure to explore:
  • Nonprofit organizations for:
      • youths
      • seniors, such as AARP
      • specific issues
  • Educational institutions
  • Civic groups
  • Volunteer Action Centers
  • Citizen/community groups
