Communicating Results
The completion of the asset mapping process is a great time to remind, educate, and invigorate stakeholders about the city’s service initiative.
- Write a press release and distribute it widely to news outlets as well as to all of the community organizations, public agencies, businesses, colleges, universities, and other groups that have participated in the process.
- Ask these groups to publish the information in their newsletters and on their websites.
- Communicate the final results of the needs assessment and priorities through all of the same channels used so far in this process.
Some of the best techniques for communicating these results are:
- An announcement on the city’s website or blog
- Memos, newsletter blurbs, updates on relevant blogs, e-mail alerts via message blasts, LISTSERVs, and text messages
- Updates on social networking site, such as The Service Connection, CollectiveX, Facebook, Twitter, Meetup, etc.
- Media announcements via newspaper articles, television reports, radio spots, etc.
