Welcome to the Blueprint for Change
Welcome to the Blueprint for Change online “manual.” This material was initially created for the Building a Blueprint for Change meeting that was held in Philadelphia in December 2009. The meeting was sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service with support from Citi Foundation and in collaboration with Cities of Service and the Service Nation coalition. This online manual is designed to help city leaders develop a comprehensive service plan and a coordinated strategy focused on placing volunteers with established organizations that are addressing critical needs in the community.
The Corporation for National and Community Service improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering. As the nation’s largest grant maker for service and volunteering, the Corporation engages four million Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service to their communities annually through the Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, VISTA, NCCC, and Learn and Serve America programs. Participants in Corporation programs and the community volunteers they organize help thousands of national and local nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, schools, and municipal agencies solve tough problems and meet local needs in education, the environment, public safety, disaster response, and other critical areas.
The Corporation for National and Community Service wishes to acknowledge and thank the following organizations for their contributions to the development of this material:
- Cities of Service
- Service Nation coalition including:
- Citi Foundation - The Blueprint for Change material is funded in part by the Citi Foundation.
